Let Thy Food be Thy Medicine

We’ve now establihealing-leavesshed the foundation upon which to build; that we need a healthy, living, dynamic relationship with nature all around us.  We need the sustenance that plants, nature, air, water, and nutrition from these plants provides.

In my last post we discussed Eating the rainbow.  God said this when He set man in the garden and gave him some guidelines for his best health and life:

“Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” Gen 2:16

There was a plethora from which to choose and such an abundance! Whatever man desired and was good for food was available and delightful.   God also said:

“Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.”   Gen 9:3

One of my favorite Scriptures EVER is in Revelations:

9194bb7f29b9917638ab26f82a2c472b

“In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”  Revelations 22:2

The foundation has been laid, of nutrition through green herbs and living plants and yes, in my opinion, also animals.

But what of our modern fruits and vegetables?  Are they sufficient to sustain life and promote a quality of wellness?  What of modern farming techniques, industry, additives, pesticides, soil, droughts, famines etc?  Is there quality enough to be medicinal let alone life sustaining?  Stay tuned for more , friends!

With Love until next time,
